Do you mean Alex Standiforth? I would not be surprised if he had online classes, he already has books out on Gimp, and lots of tutorials on youtube. He explains things very well.

yes, Alex is making Gimp into money
im subscribed to his mailing list, and hes doing tutorials for money now

it does not go along with the open source idea, imo, but i think when poeple want it, its good somebody capable of teaching, is doing it
so why not

Well, the software is still free and open source. The instruction, well, it's a choice how one wants to find help. I 'might' pay if someone taught in person, and it wasn't expensive.

I am sorry.
The only time i would pay for GIMP classes is if i had guaranteed graphic design job placement afterwards. ;)
Anyway everything taught about GIMP (or INKSCAPE for that matter) for money or profit is available for FREE in many other places online.
There is no need to pay for GIMP or INKSCAPE resources of any kind. With the exception of SVG or XCF templates of course.

Also most folks who have GIMP manuals (i do), will share if asked. I don't mind.

I don't understand the people who use GIMP tutorials for profit. For some reason it really gets under my skin.
