Hi There,

My name is Rob, I've been using Gimp for quite some time now. A year or four for sure, it was actuallyone of the first programs I got when starting using Linux as my main OS (or better yet, ONLY OS!).
I used to do some Graphic/Web design and used Photoshop, Flash and Illustrator together with Dreamweaver.
However I like to write my own code better than having a program producing it and since I'm also a customizing addict I was in heaven when I switched to Linux.
I though I would miss Photoshop and was amazed that a free program like Gimp could come so packed with features and with the ability to use scripts aswell.
Therefore I'm convinced that Gimp is actually the better tool, as long as its used by someone who takes the time to explore all this.
Only text was a bit tricky, but the 2.8 version also makes up some lacking features. Anyway with some creative thinking there's no problem in the text area either.

Nice to see another Dutch person (theres a lot of em in the Linux (&openSource) community!!).

At the moment I came here to seek help, I really want to use the Mathmap plugin with Gimp 2.8 But I cant find an awnser on how to get it going.

A good customizable kaleidoscope plug would be great too...
