I wanted to mention the newest version because the Cage transform tool now works the way it should.You can now select multiple nodes and then move them all at once.This wasn't possible in 2.7.2 version for some reason. (probably the git src files).


And if you are trying to run downloaded extra SCM scripts from 2.6 era - you will get deprecated errors such as these.


The script will still work but the errors will continue until the scripts themselves are updated with new non-deprecated or old script code functions.If you know what you are doing you can fix the scripts yourself.
If you do fix them, please share them with other 2.7 version users.Thanks!

The new 2.7.3 version text tool works really well also.
This newer version of Gimp is very fast (providing you do not bloat it with too many extras)
It comes as an install just install into Program Directory.Then just delete the older gimp-2.7.2 directory.
Now make sure to change the PATH to 2.7.3 so Gimp-2.7.3 can find it's plug-ins.
Then just place a shortcut on your desktop or Rocketdock and you are all set.

Excellent installer the only issue i had is i am used to having the installer name the Program Directory so when i installed the execute i installed into C:\Program Files\gimp-2.7.3\
So the execute installed into C:\Program Files\gimp-2.7.3\gimp-2.7.3\bin which of course isn't my path.
Just thought i would mention that.Other than that excellent setup in all respects.

I have not found any bugs other than deprecated scripting.Which is up to the script coder to re-write.

The plugins already compiled by Partha for Gimp 2.7 (and available from www.partha.com ) are not the only available, also samj from http://www.aljacom.com/~gimp/ compiled several plugin for gimp at 64 bit that report tested on gimp 2.6.11 and the 2.7.3 from Partha

Rod backward-compatibility for older script and plugin is in the plan for gimp 2.8 (at least for most of the plugin & script for 2,6)but i believe will be one of the last thing to be done, first all the changes should be completed

To avoid that as to avoid to have to edit the enviromental variable in system, to avoid to unistall or move away the stable version of gimp and so on... i really prefer and suggest to use the portable version also on Partha side also at 64 or 32 bit

just unzip, make a desktop shortcut from gimprun.exe ...and that's all . installation completed !
