I've been creating 3D renders using DAZ studio of Jill Valentine and Leon S Kennedy from the Resident Evil series. My renders here: Deviantart thenic123

I usually setup the lights up properly in DAZ. Then if the rendered image needs adjusting, I use the built-in photo editor in Windows to adjust brightness, exposure, contrast etc.

I'm wondering if there's anything I can do with GIMP to elevate them to the next level in terms of realism? Using filters etc?

I used G'MIC Mighty Details and then Gimp Colors > Curves to lighten it.

Okay. That’s a different approach to lighting the scene.

Where is the G'MIC Mighty Details found?

That's it. Many posts on Gimp Chat today are about the excellent 'G'MIC'. An entire graphics ecosystem you could say :)
