Ambigram_Rotation_by_Insanity_Prevails.scm

I saw this script in gimp2.7 and it didn't work, so I copied it and put it into gimp2.6.11. It requires two layers to work. I ran the script with a heart image. When I wanted to run Playback to view the animation, Playback wouldn't run.

Playback works fine for my other animations.

I did a Google search and found the script. I deleted the one I put in my scripts folder and downloaded the one in DeviantArt; it has the same problem with Playback. I ran the script using the default settings.

The script leaves many different-sized layer boundaries that need to be set to image size but doing that still does not allow Playback to run.

I saved it as an animation (gif format). Closed it, then opened it. Still the same problem. I went to Filters > Animation and noticed that most of the scripts in there were grayed out, but Settings was available but not Settings with Semi-Flatten. I changed the default speed (30ms) to 100ms and then it would play back.

For me, the script left the image in a sorry state.

I'm attaching the xcf file of the animation. It too refuses to play in Playback. Perhaps you could try it and see if it plays for you.

It plays back but the first frame is a 15 second display. Did you wait long enough? (or step once then hit play again)

O you are also supposed to save the image mode as indexed and then as a GIF.
The script worked fine for me in Gimp-2.6.11_Portable.

Sort of off topic, but a year or so ago, I was on a major but very short lived) ambigram binge. Too tedious to make and the free generator that exists is not very good. A paid version is fantastic, but more money then I care to spend. Anyway, created this one of my handle at that time.

Mine is set to delay at 1.0 seconds.

I didn't even notice that delay. Works, I just need to learn patience.

Well when it didn't play I saved it just as a gif without the preliminaries to see what happened with it. I closed the gif, re-opened it and, of course, got the same results. As I said, I clicked Filters / Animation and most of the scripts in there were grayed out.

I never saw anything like before O.... It had 18 frames in replace and I can't see one reason why that wouldn't play. I waiting plenty long enough after the first 15000 frame and it still sat there. That is a real mystery......
