you are right, PC, I searched mathmap and the installer created the 2.6 folder! Now I will try to move them as suggested...I'm no computer nerd, so I hope I can figure it out!!!
*ok this isn't gonna work. I already lost one folder somewhere by trying to move it and accidentally clicking before I found where I wanted it to go, so I uninstalled mathmap and reinstalled it. I do not have any gimp files in the path doc & settings/my name/gimp. Unfortunately I have all my added scripts and brushes and patterns installed in this path, c:programs/gimp2.0/etc., the plugins are in that path 2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plugins. When I look at the installed folders that mathmap put in the folder 2.6, there are 4, mathmap (expressions), plugins, unins.000.dat, unins000.exe. I was wondering, can I just reinstall and change the 2.6 to 2.4? Because otherwise I would need to know the full path of where to put each of those folders. Well, I suppose the uninstalls can stay there unless moving the other folders would mess that up. Have I mentioned that I need a private tutor, lol!
@2-ton.
I don't know if you had any luck installing your math map yet, but if you follow these instrucs word for word you should have yourself a working copy of mathmap. Worked perfectly for me.
You will have to completely delete the mathmap folder from inside the .gimp-2.6 folder found at at:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.gimp-2.6
You will then have to open the plug-ins folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.gimp-2.6\plug-ins and delete:
libgslcblas.dll, libgsl.dll, and mathmap
how can I delete the plug ins if I already deleted the main 2.6 folder? oops, I deleted the .gimp mail folder firstThen, you can install the mathmap 1.3.5 version that you would have gotten here:
http://www.complang.tuwien.ac.at/schani ... -setup.exeOnce you download that file (or you may still have it on your computer), double-click on it to install it.
but I already downloaded that version and it made the unusable 2.6 folder in the first place...I am running 2.4, I am still lost.Once that is installed, go and grab the zip file MathMap_custom_script_2_1_by_photocomix_resources.zip from PhotoComix at:
http://photocomix-resources.deviantart. ... 1-83507321 (or you may still have it on your computer)
Then unzip MathMap_custom_script_2_1_by_photocomix_resources.zip somewhere on your desktop.
Then place the unzipped folder which will be named mathmap-extra-2-Ecquirectangular into the mathmap expressions folder at:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\.gimp-2.6\mathmap\expressions
Finally restart Gimp.
