small ancillary filters (33, index on first post)

From time to time I revisit Gimp Emboss, which I like a lot.
Hence I decided to create a very small filter and post it here.
Obviously you may do yourself the steps (in which case you may adjust as you like the parameters of each step).
Which are the steps?
1.duplicate the layer and set it below the source
2.apply Emboss using the parameters you prefer (I used: 45, 30, 20)
3.change the source layer mode to Color
4.duplicate the source layer and set mode and opacity at your taste (I used Hardlight, 65)
5.apply a bit more contrast
6.if there is a need, increase saturation on both source layers

Please note that Embossing is not very suitable for people, better to use anything else: landscapes, animals, flowers...

Thanks a lot for these nice contributions.
In addition to the filter I detailed the (few) steps, so everyone can try to do them with "customized" parameters.

Another filter that I've started to apply on my own photos.

So, Romanesque facades, arches, bridges etc this effect is great :tyspin

Very nice outcomes issabella, this filter is very effective with your colourful pictures.

I wanted to try with some more texture. It doesn't work without a minimum of work, a layer mask is a good solution.

A bee as the original:

The outcome with the emboss: it's already nice !

And the result with a desatured wood texture : With a minimum of work, it's possible to suggest a relief.

With images like your source, another easy way is to add noise before running ColouredEmboss.
