Not there dinasset, thanks for replying. I only have Convolution Matrix, Dilate and Erode. I don't remember adding it, or is it a part of gimp? I am using Windows 2.8.10 32 bit

Have fun with wavelet-decompose. I am finding that it is great for photo-retouching.
There is a tutorial from Pat David which is very good at showing the principals.
Duplicating layer1, or sometimes layer2, one or more times is excellent for sharpening images.

If you discover anything else useful with it, let us all know!

It's definitely great for removing unwanted artifacts in certain decomposed layers of the image.
