I'm trying to run a script that came with GAP called Kaleidoscope Animation Script by LightningIsMyName, but I get an error, not sure why...

viz.:

'Calling error for procedure 'script-fu-animated-kaleidoscope-square': Error: ( : 1) Bad syntax of binding spec in let* : ((duplicate) (position))'

Does anyone here know how to change this to get it to work on GIMP 2.8.22? Very much appreciated.

Here is the script:

I'm just wondering if this script could be useful to me, as it came with GAP, and although it doesn't seem to work, I'm intrigued as to what it can do compared to the regular GEGL 'Mirrors' filter, A.K.A. Kaleidoscope (in GIMP 2.9) - obviously it's designed with animation in mind... so would be nice to give it a go if at all possible.

This works in 2.8, by FencePost and later edited by samj.
I have changed the menu entry to "animators"
