Colorify in Gimp 2.10

The Colorify option is no longer in the Color menu in Gimp 2.10.

This very simple plugin places an option in the Color/Colour menu and calls the Colorify plugin with whichever colour you select.

Perhaps I'm mistaken, but doesn't "Colorize" do the same thing? it is in the color menu in Gimp 2.10x.

You can still get Colorify using the new search capability (enter '/'-'c'-'o'-'l'-'o'-'r'-'i'-... and it will show in the list (if it is compatible with the current image type of course)...

Several old plugins have been partially removed (still there, but unreachable from menus). It seems this was made on purpose, since a bug about this has been closed. See here (you can try to reopen the bug...).

Before your posts Ofnuts and Rich I just assumed that Colorify was in the process of being down-graded and the plug-in would be marked soon as 'deprecated'. I think that is what the line is on GitLab - although some of the responses did seem a bit sniffy (sensitive moi). It will not be difficult to emulate the process in code when they do pull the plug(in) on it so we will wait and see.

Anyway I just thought this menu addition could be useful to one or two people before they do.

BTW Racer: You're absolutely right but, personally, I have never found the Colorize option to be particularly intuitive to use. I tend to have a particular colour in mind when I want to add a new tint or tone and Colorify is usually my preferred quick and lazy option.

Back to what I mentioned earlier.

Harvest the ones (compiled plugin) you need from Gimp 2.8

Put them in your Gimp 2.10 profile plug-in folder. Might not be the politically correct way, but at least they appear in the menu structure.
