After coming across a very tightly spaced font I thought that I would add this update to adjust the amount of space above and below font characters. It also restricts the overall height of the layers generated to the bounding box of the original font since Python appears to insert its own default characters (outside the normal keyboard range) when they are missing from the font set being generated, which messes about with the size of the layers. The downside of this feature is that any undefined characters, such as the underscore character which are drawn in the default unicode font at the bottom of the character layer, may appear as empty or incomplete characters.
Overall, however, I feel that this is worth the risk - since those characters will probably need 're-styling' in any case.
