Many thanks to Tim for the new plugins.

The original plugin has a lot of potential to add new options and I like playing with this type of plugin.

This plugin to start initial-version:

- instead of replacing the layer creates a new image,
- depending on the parameters selected (if the chosen layer is not a square) the result may seem "cut off" - so you have added two options to prepare the layer for a square,
- a lot of possibilities gives fill a pattern 'Create New Fold',
- optional: 'Unsharp mask'(legacy) and 'Autocrop'.

In menu Gimp: Filters -> Distorts -> Unfold Flake...
