This plugin is a combination of codes and idea based by code:

- Tin Tran "Fill_rotate.py" https://gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1393
- Ofnuts "ofn-symmetries.py" (2016-09-29) https://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-tools/files/scripts/ofn-symmetries.zip/download

In menu GIMP: Filters->Distorts->Symmetry->Symmetry by diagonal...

It's a bit easier to play with the effects of various symmetries - and it will be a continuation ...

Add options: Size of the new image, Mirror by central axis(choose an area),Remove prepared square.

This plugin can be used for various purposes (eg easy creation of seamless patterns) but it was created as a complement (to prepare the source and to process the final) plugin symmetry_tile.py (with a great option to create your own compositions using a string)

The 17 plane symmetry groups:

The original plugin works without any problems for Gimp 2.10 but for my own needs I modified it a bit
(I added the number of tiles and disassembled the multiply mode for individual presets).
Modified plugin in menu Gimp: Filters->Distorts->Symmetry->Symmetry Tile...

These symmetry groups are identical to the symmetry tab in Inkscape's tiled clones dialogue.

Always thought its something the Inkscape developers made up, but the links says:
