Hello everyone!

I was using the Non Destructive (Gradient Map) filter from the (hidden native GEGL filters) <i'm not sure if i'm allowed to put the link here!

after updating GIMP from 3.0 to 3.2.6 , the filter disappeared from GIMP! i'm not sure if it's a compatability issue!

is there a solution or maybe an updated version of this filter that works with GIMP 3.2 ?

thanks in advance.

yes i got them from this link you provided a year and a half ago :
https://github.com/LinuxBeaver/GEGL-GIM ... s/releases

i just downloaded them from this link and they work now:
https://github.com/LinuxBeaver/LinuxBea ... nload_page
but there is a little problem when i press the (sRGB) button in the Gradient Map filter, GIMP shut down !
i didnt face that with the older version in GIMP 3.0!

Yes that is where i downloaded my version from, and i can confirm Gimp-3.2.6 does indeed crash when RGB is selected.

I have two filters named GEGL Earth and GEGL Stripes that depends on port gradient map and it works fine, indicating it doesn't use that checkbox. Considering this happened in 3.0.5 its an old bug that missed me.

This had me confused in post #4 where Rod stated:
Gradient Map under GEGL Operations working fine for me in Gimp-3.2.6 in Windows 10 64 bit.
Tools>GEGL Operatons>Gradient Map

...and in my linux Gimp 3.2.6 that was not there. It looks like it depends on how Gimp is compiled ( probably the development GEGL Workshop function)

Then pulling out a linux ivan-hc Gimp 3.2.6 appimage, several extra entries in Tools -> GEGL Operations including Gradient Map.

Still has a bug, try and use a stop entry as a slider instead of using -/+ buttons and it crashes. I wonder if it will become a permanent feature ?

with the version in the link that you provided before (https://github.com/LinuxBeaver/GEGL-GIM ... s/releases) the sRGB button works perfectly.
unfortunately this version doesn't work with GIMP 3.2.6.

but with the version that's present in this link (https://github.com/LinuxBeaver/LinuxBea ... nload_page) checking sRGB button causes crashing of both GIMP 3.2 and GIMP 3.0.

You probably confused port:gradient with GEGL's official gradient map. The port Gradient Map has not updated since April of 2024. The problem is probably not GIMP version dependent.

RGB checkbox port Gradient map crashes on Flatpak of GIMP 2.10 as well.

All evidence points to this was always the case and we just found out about it now.

I am lazy right now, but I did check thural enough to confirm that Gradient Map Port never updated since 2024 and it crashes on Flatpak 2.10, 3.0.5, and 3.2.6. The fix will be hiding the rgb checkbox.

The DLL Also crashes 3.2.8 when checking RGB.
