I'm looking for a 'Clone Layer Tool Script' that will function with Gimp-2.6.11, the script I found at the Gimp Plugin Registry is only for GIMP 2.7.

Would anyone know if one is available somewhere for Gimp-2.6.11 and where I might get it?

I'm not exactly sure what your trying to do but have a look at Ofnuts', interleave-layers-0.4.py and saulgoode has the handy, sg-combine-bg.
The Clone Layer tool for 2.7 you mentioned should work in 2.6.11.

@Odin,

I want to try out Esper tutorial based on the youtube video tutorial by Xgeous called, '3D Text with a reflection - xgeous Style'...
viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6660#p83336

For this tutorial to work his way, he says that I will need the 'Clone Layer Tool script'.

With the tutorial Esper provides a link to the 'Gimp Plugin Registry', but the script that is available there is only for Gimp 2.7 and I'm running 2.6.11.

I've use this tutorial before, but had to duplicate layers many times and merge them. With this script it seems much easier to do as Esper describes in his tutorial by using the 'Clone Layer Tool script'.

I don't know what the 'Interleave-Layers' script does, but if I can use it for this tutorial, in place of the 'Clone Layer Tool script' then I'll get it a go.

@Odin,

I did download the 'Clone Layer tool' from the plugin registry using the download highlighted below. I placed the .exe file into my plugin folder, but it didn't function.
Should I have use a different downloaded?

gimp-clt-v0.2b-src.tar 210 KB
gimp-clt-v0.2b-bin.tar 100 KB
gimp-clt-v0.2b-exe.zip 38.16 KB
gimp-clt-v0.2b-src+exe-64bits.zip 321.85 KB

wallace: i haven't tried that version of the clone layer tool, but i know many people here have tried the clone layers tool in 2.6.11 without getting it to work. however, you would be able to do practically the same thing with the multi-replicate tool - and since there's a whole thread with info on it active now i suggest you check it out!

The Clone Layer Tool will not work for Gimp-2.6.11.It uses the Gimp-2.7 API.
It does work in Gimp-2.8 versions though.
Have you tried Multi Replicate? http://registry.gimp.org/node/22383

@Rod,

Thanks Rod... :)
From the description of the script at the 'plugin registry', this script looks like it will do what is needed. I'll give it a go, but I do think it should work in place of the 'clone layer tool script'.

Thanks again Rod... :bigthup
