A blur filter with settings that can make it Ideal for fixing many image flaws when blur does to little and Gaussium does to much

It does a good job of sharpening images as well (I set the amount a little to high here)

sorry Graechan, I don't understand the parameters and how they work; whichever values I put, I don't see any effect (and no errors..)
could you write down some info?
and tell me the parameters used in generated the last image (too sharpened, you said)?
thanks
(note: in this moment I'm working on a win XP PC, if this does matter)

Graechan, I repost this comment, because it seems you did not notice it
(if I launch other blur filters, they work ?!)

Sorry Dinasset but I didn't see your comment the script was a bit of an experiment by me and as it turns out the centre value and amount don't seem to do much it's the matrix value that determines the amount of 'Blur' applied, from small (useful for cleaning bevels) to large which tended to round the bevel, and the medium settings are good for applying to the copied layers of images, then changing there mode to grain merge (this brings out the color or pops the image)

To tel the truth the convolution matrix is a very frustrating plugin to work with

thanks, Graechan.
My problem is that I'd like to use it on normal pictures (not "beveled" texts or so on), and there I don't see any effect.
I used also large matrix.
My way of checking the effect (on a normal picture, as I said) is very "brutal":
- I duplicate the layer
- I try many different set-ups of the filter on the duplicated layer
- then I set the mode to "difference" and everything is shown black, as if between the two layers there is no difference at all
Am I wrong? or simply is it usable only on beveled texts?
Thanks again

I have simplified the Menu in Rel2 (see initial post)

Dinasset I hope the new Menu and examples below will help note! your image size will have an effect on any blur

original↓
Image
with default blur↓
Image
with blur [deluxe] small↓
Image
with blur [deluxe] large↓
