No compile yet for either 32 or 64-bit but still hoping Samj or anybody that has 64-bit prowess at compiling plugins can help. Got the link from GIMPUsers. :)

It's a good news Lyle!
I've never heard of 64-bit version of plugin, it would be nice to have one :bigthup .

I don't know why Prokoudine says 0.7 has incompatibility issues with 2.8.
In my 2.8.6 LQR works just fine and in the example below already got content aware functionality.

It will be included in 2.10!!! Always been saying LQR is a great plugin, and extremely underrated.

I have the 32 bit compiled if you want to test it. :)
EDIT: I changed the image because the other had the old plugin view (forgot to take the exe out of my USER/gimp-2.8/plug-ins folder. This is the correct interface for Liquid Rescale 7.2. :bigthup

I can try Rod; just pass on a link. Prefer just a zip; don't like to install. :)

Rod, I can't see any difference in UI between my 0.7.1 and new 0.7.2 versions.

Neither did i. I believe it is mostly bug fixes for this release.

I wouldn't say a bug, plugin was written at 2.6 era and not meant for 2.8. Quick fix (patch) from Prokoudine to make it work with 2.8 to be precise.

I was referring to your phrase

@Rod

I do not know. The use of this environment make him more independent, which is appreciable.

Would like a 64-bit environment and maybe I might delve in the uncomfortable (at least for me). lol

Programmer I'm not and what little I did in the past life was enough to get me through. :)

Have to add that compiling plugins for Linux is a lot easier. I still remember compiling the Maze 5 plugin (lots of different things need to be done since it used unique stuff) with only a little sweat. :)

Really once the windows env is set up and it mimics Linux it is fairly easy to compile windows plugins for Gimp also. :)
Just remember were here to help if you need it. :bigthup

What i don't understand is why Gimptool-2.0 is broken for win32 now. That is sad. :(

What would be cool Rod is if someone would create a online PHP (think that's the term for perl script) where you upload or link the plugin that you want compiled, set either 32 or 64-bit and click a button. Not sure how hard or feasible this would be, but it sure would hope novice users like me. :)

@Lylejk

Compilation and programming are two very different things.
Just look on Linux where everyone compiles ;)
I might be trying to build a program that works only when using a mouse (does not tapper command line).

Another thing:
I communicate environments to try, if possible, be of interest to other users of Gimp. These environments are 32 bits for three reasons:
- There is still much more Gimp 32 bits vs Gimp 64 bits :(
- 32-bit environments are easier to create.
- Create a high-performance 64-bit environment takes time.

For the hell of it I compiled this in Linux 32 bit and..

I know it is just update to Gimp 2.8 libraries, so (obviously) no actual benefits, the old plug-in works fine.

Big difference - the old plugin (from PCLOS) was 109,860B - the new compiled from git 425,325B

However, it does a great job as it did before. Use it a lot for DVD labels. Any development much appreciated.

The only problem with that would be the possibility of "server overload". :lol
Imagine many people trying to compile many src files on one machine all at one time. :hehe

I still think the best way is a sh file.
Think about it...
You run the sh file via your cmd console. Each time you run the file all dependencies are updated from one GIT or Windows repository. You would have the correct sh file that corresponds to your system.
The script downloads or updates and installs all GIMPS dependencies needed to compile plugins.
Now all you need are the src files of the plugin. Untar or Unzip the src files.
Now in the same cmd window you just change to the src file directory that contains the configure file and type..
./configure
make ; make install OR if it's just 1 C file...
gimptool-2.0 --install [or just --build] plugin.c
Everything is built and placed in the proper installation folders. :)
Easy Peasy.

There would have to be dedicated folks to update all those dependencies of course but that could be as easy as contacting the authors of each library and asking for update information each time.
Most updates come from GLIB, BABL, GTK+, GEGL and GIMP so it shouldn't be too hard to keep dependencies correct.

Writing the SH script would be the hardest part. :) It would be quite a challenge. I did start one but... GLIB wasn't up to date and there were a few probs with GETTEXT (online probs with file names)

sh would be cool if available for Windows Rod. Used it quite often enough with Linux to be more then comfortable with that. Oh well; still spiel. lol
