I was having the same issue with my videos, and after removing the "S" in "https". I was able to post videos

TIP: To keep the aspect ratio of a video when you add it to Gimp Chat.
1. At YouTube select, Share | Embed.
2. Below the code box, note Video size.
3. When you Insert web video here, replace default w/h.
