I would like to know how you guys would go about colorizing 100+ layers with all the same color, without support form Gap?

Are all the layers different, like with different images on each one? or are they blank layers?

This is basically a hypothetical question, but all the layers have something on them that need to all be the same color.
The only way that I've been able to do this was by using Gap, but the version of Gimp I'm using doesn't support it and I'm looking to do this without using Gap.
So how would you colorize 100+ layers all at once, without the use of Gap.

Well, if the layers all have different images, I don't know if it is possible. if you wanted to just colorize plain layers I would use Saulgoodes animation >overlay background.

My interleave-layers script, applying a single color-filled layer in "Color" mode.

The key work here is "colorize".
Colorize 100+ layers all at once, not overlay or combine a background to multiple layers.

All layers have a transparent background. Each layer has something different on it. How would one go about colorizing each layer, without having to repeat the same steps 100+ times to colorize each layers pixels without using Gap?

If your layers all all transparent then put a colored bg on the bottom then run Saulgoodes combine background. silly

Save all the layers to a folder then use Bimp to colorize all the images then open them all as layers, or you could use a script to to do it

Forgot about Bimp, that's a good solution Graechan. :bigthup
Is there a script that would use the colorize filter to be able to colorize each layer the same all in one shot?

I haven't tried Bimp yet, it does sound like a good alternative, but a script using the colorize filter to do this would be nice. Image

Edit..
You can only change existing color Brightness, Contrast and Saturation with Bimp you can't colorize images with it.

the colorize plugin starts by desaturating the Image then it colorizes as per your settings feel free to try this
But maybe colorize is not the plugin you should be using

I'll give this a try. Thanks Graechan. :bigthup

What do you mean when you said "colorize is not the plugin you should be using"?

try colorize on one of the layers fist then undo and set the script with the same settings first, if still not right undo and look at one of the other color plugins, note! colorize only works with RGB images
