I stumbled on this site looking for gimp custom text effects. I do not consider myself an artist by any means (IT Dev Ops Analyst). But... I do enjoy fiddling with graphics for my mmorpg sites. So, I'll probably be lurking on here as I try to figure out GIMP (have some previous photoshop experience).

if you're interested in text effects. You might want to check out Bevel Reflect Logo, which I believe most if not all the recent welcoming post in this thread used Bevel Reflect Logo to apply their text effects.
