I was told a long time ago that a computer can do nothing that a human can do already. Who do you think puts the information in computers in the first place?
But what's scary/creepy/exciting about computer is that we tell it rules and methods...and then it is able to do that those rules and methods millions of times faster than us.
Like for example, we tell it to how to add a number to a number, and it's able to addition without us telling it the answers of all possible questions.
Also computer learning is even more creepy..i don't know if you've read about Google Deepmind play Atari games. But Deepmind is able to teach itself to play like 50 Atari games and do better than average person and Deepmind was able to come up with some strategies that people didn't even know existed before so they end up learning from Deepmind too.
A game is never that complex. To sell it must be playable by the average person. And even without that marketing bound it won't be more complex than what the developers can code... That still makes it a lot less complex than real life.
But it's true that computers can sometime exhibit unexpected behavior. Sometimes, it's bugs, sometimes it's AI, sometimes it's Microsoft idiosyncrasies.
