You are psychic! :)

I have a working version of textureOps-0.3 for Gimp-2.7.2 for 64-bit Windows. I will upload and have a 32-bit working soon when I recompile 2.7.2 for 32bit.

If you are able - please test it and let me know if there are issues. Installation is simple - put the exe files in your plug-ins directory and the scm file in your scripts directory (local or system wide).

Thanks,
Partha

I should be able, i am just back home and i was just cleaning and setting up things
to install your last build on my 64bit PC and then i will be happy to try the plugin

About "cleaning and setting up things" i know i only need to correct the enviromental path but i want try to capture in video the process so in the best case i may share the video to explain how to, and in the worst case may help to detect what went wrong.

Only as now my desktop look as crap full of folders and staff that should not be there so i am moving on things in the right places...then i never used before my video screen recorder so may took some time to find the right options

Well is also 01.00 AM here but this is far to be a problem, i have plenty of coffee , good music and nothing to do tomorrow till late, so i am going for it.

So, if the screenrecorder thingy don't play nasty trick, and if the weird issue on 7 with enviromental path don't stike again, and no earthquake will strike Roma..well...i will be back here soon

OK Rod; feather sharpen is located in the textureops zip file. I actually posted it earlier on this thread (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1300#p14836).

To answer PC, below is a few filters/script-fus that I would find some joy to have in GIMP 2.x:

Multitile (very rarely open GIMP 1.2.4 because of this one, but have done so in the past)

Homogenize (admit that I no longer really need this one, but do like it and it still beats hands down all the knockoffs that I've currently seen people post or flows that they try to outline)

Synthesize Texture (of course the reason this thread got started in the first place. Someone recently posted the Make Seamless Texture plugin for GIMP 2.x, so happy I am for that, but the Scriptfu still doesn't work and Sharpfeather plugin, of course, is only compiled for GIMP 1.2.4). :)

Damn the only link i can find seems too recent for a gimp 1.2.4 plugin
(last edit was from 4 years ago.)
Lylejk could you have look ?

This look as a script ... IS a script,correct ?
If so Lylejk could you upload it ?
(then hopefully some of our script gurus may give a look and see if could be resurrected)

Hu ??
As far i understand the script was fixed at the end and all plugins included in texturesops compiled (at least for 2.7.2 see last Partha message)

or still there is something missed ?

Homogenize and Multitile are GIMP 1.x plugins PC (not scripts). The Synthsize Texture Script-fu has an option for Feather Sharpen and that doesn't work. When I uncheck that option, it was still buggy (the version that supposedly works for GIMP 2.x that is). I pretty much hosed everything but Make Seamless Texture (that one works in GIMP 2.x). I'll check your link to Multitile but I believe it is still only for GIMP 1.x. :)

edit:
Your link just lists C code. I still pretty much can tell you that it's a plugin not a Script-fu and that it only works in GIMP 1.x. Not sure if you can compile it in a form that would be 2.x friendly (more then likely not). :)

Just tried to compile multitile, and no dice. It seems to have too many errors on the compile, and after extensive searching and reading, I can't find any information to help me figure out what it needs.
In file included from Multitile-1.2-beta1.c:48:
mt-mode-tiles-xy.h:39: warning: conflicting types for ‘honeybee_tiles_xy’
mt-mode-tiles-xy.h:39: error: static declaration of ‘honeybee_tiles_xy’ follows non-static declaration
mt-mode-tiles-xy.h:14: note: previous implicit declaration of ‘honeybee_tiles_xy’ was here
In file included from Multitile-1.2-beta1.c:51:
mt-geometry.h: In function ‘symmetry_menu_callback’:
mt-geometry.h:30: error: ‘stypes’ undeclared (first use in this function)
mt-geometry.h:30: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
mt-geometry.h:30: error: for each function it appears in.)
mt-geometry.h: In function ‘create_selection’:
mt-geometry.h:90: error: ‘stypes’ undeclared (first use in this function)
Multitile-1.2-beta1.c: At top level:
Multitile-1.2-beta1.c:59: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type

Feather sharpen is now compiled (as everything in textureops) but NOT for 2.6 ONLY for 2.7.2 and ONLY for 64 bit download/file.php?id=1861
well a 32 bit version should follow soon anyway that is what ready now

...and sure without that the script will give errors at least if that option is checked

about the other plugin ..they were included in gimp (if so the code may still be traced)?
if not you don't have a idea where they were (even if the side is dead i may try with Internet Archives )?

the link i posted in the other message seems of a project dead before produce something usable, and the name may be a coincidence

Not sure about Linux Mahvin, but it's still cool that both GIMP 1.2.4 and GIMP 2.2x can co-exist. In fact, they can both be open simultaneously (at least with my Win7). Again, I only occasionally open up GIMP 1.2.4 since there still is some cool stuff in that old engine. I do like Multitile by the way. Has some cool presets like Honeycomb which is out of the norm for a seamless tile creator. My only wish is that all future versions of GIMP have backward compatibility for the old, but you and me both know that won't happen (look at the Script-fu fiasco and that happened between 2.0 and 2.2; lol). I actually had 2.0, 2.2, and 1.2.4 on my XP OS running at one time til I finally was satisfied that all the Script-fus that I cared to run would do so in 2.2x that when I upgraded to Win7, I just installed 2.2x and 1.2.4. :)

I actually got the multitile plugin from a Japanese site that compiled them for windows; that site no longer hosts the plugins. Because of the magic of the wayback machine, you can at least see what plugins were compiled (can also use wayback to see the list of non-compiled plugins from the old registry, but even that site is useless; wish they would have kept the registry archive, but even that is hosed; the tradegy of it all for the lost code). :)

I agree with you on all counts, but something tells me it's just not as simple as we would like it to be or otherwise most of them (plug-ins) would already be converted to the latest GIMP. But your earlier suggestion of making the engine universal to all sorts of data/input, well, like you said, "We can dream, can't we?"

Multitile appears to be a cool plug-in, so how it managed to fall off the edge of up-to-date source surprises me. Any cool plug-in deserves better than being left behind in the internet trash can. I wish my knowledge extended beyond the simple tinkering stage.

there is not and never was a Multitile or a Homogenize plugin in that list ! :hoh

But ...call me Sherlock and scroll here till the very button

http://www.logarithmic.net/pfh/resynthesizer/history

And do you really think that file lost? only because all links are dead and can't be resurrected ?
Only because you tried to send me in Japan along a wrong track
:sword ?

No way!! here the lost code !

http://www.graphics-muse.org/source/GFX ... 0.4.tar.gz

But for multitile...well i even found the authors i may told you not only their names , i may even give their phone numbers (both office and home ) and their biography but the plugin...

...ahh..WAIT !! here it is !

http://www.graphics-muse.org/source/GFX ... ultitile.c

i even used advanced search on that side before but google failed because was hidden under "modified"

Oh well...call me Sherlock !!

I hope was worth, that may be resurrected and ,more, that they deserve to be resurrected

PS @Leylejk
Sherlock don't care about money...is Watson and my new assistent, the Punisher to take care of ...they should be knocking to your door in a few minutes :wh

I have Multitile down to two errors, and for the life of me, I can't figure out these two errors:

Multitile.c:288: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
Multitile.c: In function ‘main_dialog’:
Multitile.c:1621: error: too few arguments to function ‘gimp_color_balance’

That's it.

It originally had gimp_color_cube(), which I could find no reference to in the GIMP Library Reference Manual. I attempted to use gimp_color_balance, but I know for certain I am not getting the transfer and boolean correct for the 3 colors, and besides I don't even know if this is the right approach.

The incompatible pointer type, I just don't get it. I've cross-referenced the pointer with a number of recent compiles, and it "looks" legit, so again I am lost. If it's an indentation issue, I did manage to indent it correctly. Not sure. I'm like a mad scientist putting together bodies with mis-matched parts. :gaah

You're wrong about multitile PC (look at the 6th entry down; it was not in alphabetical order). Not sure where I got the Homogenize filter, but I do have it. You have to remember that a lot has happened over the past 10+ years. :)
