I'm here to show you a plugin I made, but since the forum doesn't allow new users to post links, it look like I'll have to make an introduction first. ;)

I've been using GIMP for ages now, along with other Open Source programs like Inkscape and MyPaint. Though I'm a lot better at coding than I am at art and have been coding in Python for years and now. Now I've finally made my first foray into GIMP plugins.

I believe you need at least five posts, before you can add links.

Same here! I'm new and doing a senior thesis research survey about Adobe Photoshop and GIMP. I have to post 5 times before I can post the link to my survey. :( While that happens, I'll do some research here. What do you use GIMP for? and what's your overall feel about GIMP? :cool

I use GIMP mainly for photo editing, for animated gifs from TV and movies, for putting text on things, and for everything MyPaint can't do. Most of my actual art (drawing, painting) I do in MyPaint.

I've never used Photoshop or other programs, so I can't really compare.

Welcome to Gimp Chat!
What does your new filter or script do?
We have a sister site http://gimpscripts.com/upload-script/ where you can upload filters for other users. OR you can send me a PM ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=196 and i will send you my email so you can send me the filter and i will test and add it to the Gimp Scripts website. :)

Alternatively you can wait 5 posts and attach the filter in a post but it must be in a compressed ZIP folder. The filter will be tested and information from users or testers added there if bugs are detected.

Add the filter to the scripts and plug-ins board here - viewforum.php?f=9
Just click the button "New Topic"

Hope that helps.

EDIT: Looks like you found your way around. :bigthup

Thank you!

I'll wait a couple of days and see if any bugs or comments come up, then I'll look into uploading the script. :)

Welcome Rebecca2525! I had a go at Python a while back - it seems pretty cool - there seems to be a code library for almost anything!
