Afaik wavelet decompose is included in Partha´s mac builds. To be precise, It´s not a script but a plug-in.
You can either use his build or just pick the wavelet decompose from the Gimp-2.8.app/Contents/Resources/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/ folder
and move it to your corresponding folder.

yep, I downloaded McGimp 2.8.14 64-bit just to see (I´m on Windows) and it includes wavelet decompose.
I think You could find other useful plugins seems there are 219 of them.

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE. I have tried all of that but am now trying to find out what G'MIC is for Gimp I hear it is like a free database of filters and that wavelet decompose is on it .... do you know what that is. I am kind of still lost. So I actually got the "Wavelet Decompose" under my image tab and got the "Simple Wavelet Decompose" under the layers tab. But when I use them I get errors. So kind of lost at this point. Thanks please help or suggest a way if you can thanks so much for your time.

So basically what is GIMP , G'MIC, and McGIMP. I don't want to use a different program really and I am not sure if you can only get G'MIC with GIMP or only with McGIMP and do those two coincide. I don't want to lose my presets and all that stuff plus i already know GIMP like the back of my hand except when it comes to adding new stuff but using it I am fine. I just don't understand and would love your help if you could. G'MIC sounds cool from what I hear of it but don't know how that works. Someone also suggested you could take plugins from the folders of McGimp or G'MIC and add them to your GIMP not sure if that works. I just want the filters and don't want to change much and I am on a Mac I don't even know what LINUX is . So i am kind of a Rookie here in this department. PLEASE HELP ME AGAIN HAHAH!!!

I have attached a few files of the errors I was having with the two filters i did get to show up but wont work and apparently don't show up where other peoples show up . I am LOST!! THanks for your time and looking forward to hearing from you.

Best

You might try emailing Partha, since he has the mac versions of Gimp and GMic. His email address is on his website, Partha.com.
