A token of gratitude for all the snippets I've gleaned from Gimp Chat over the years...
I have a small python script that I wrote to make life easier for creating properly sized images for wallpaper/desktop images and annotating them with a visually low-key caption. The images help me to remember when and where they were taken - things can become a little hazy these days. There are basic options for cropping the images etc.
Unfortunately it will only work for Windows users - since it checks for the current Windows screen size. Other people are welcome to fix the foible if they wish.
I have been able to attach the file thanks to the tip from dinasset?
An example image...
