PS: it would be nice for me to get an overall evaluation between the results you got using original filter and those you get using this modified version.
In other words: assuming you made your tests on 20 images, which one gives overall better results in more than 10 images.
An auto adjusting procedure can't be applied totally successfully to every and each case, it's good -and I'm happy- if it works fine in the majority of cases.
(it is the same also for my other filters...).
Thanks again for your support.

Interesting plugin. I couldn't even get the same results with the curves tool.

Is there supposed to be a dialog when I select the menu?

Joseph,
this is the dialogue: only a single parameter, to set a post-processing enhancement step or not

Thanx. I will try again, i didn't see the menu first time I installed the plugin. I probably mistook it for the GIMP's native White balance script under colors/Auto.

Cheers.

I guess I went a bit step further in attaining in general a better outcome

You may try this "evening" version

I hope to have reached a quite good assessment, so that I can release it officially as an update of the one published yesterday, let me know whether you agree.

I did a few more tests and I definitely find this filter very useful and effective. :)

Dinasset, I prefer your last version, very nice. Thank you.

In some cases your first filter is more effective, but for general use the last version is better.

Issabella, your very green "bush/forest" image, is for auto color balance difficult. Because it is really very green. When a automatic color balance compensates this, the image will be too magenta. The filter doesn't know bush with green leaves has to be green. ;)
