Im working with a random size Brush Dynamic to stroke a path.
The problem is that i get a range of sizes from set brushsize to tiny.

Is there a way to restrict the size range to a minimum size in the current version of Gimp or perhaps in a devel version ?

Yes, you just change the size mapping in the brush dynamics, reducing the slope to avoid going full swing:

In the mapping above, the size goes from 3/8 to 5/8 of the defined size.

Thanks ofnuts !

I knew about the curves, but always thought its a functionality for tablets.

I tried changing the curve as you showed in your screenshot, but the result is the same as before.
Whats odd is that, my curve doesnt say 'Random' as yours. Mine says 'Pressure'....

Is there something else im missing ? (im on Gimp 2.8.18, Win7)

EDIT: i found the problem. 'Random' has to be highlighted, not just ticked.
