Newbie says Hi

My main goal is modest - it's to learn GIMP well enough concur the graphics world. Seriously, I just want to create some fun stuff. But, I don't want it to look childish, or too unprofessional, or overly novice like. And, I'm into cars, so I'll be on the lookout for thinks to help me make my car photos pop.

Make car photos pop? I don't know much about making things pop. But you could try doing <Colors>/Curves and then apply an S-curve to your image like below or less I am just showing you the general shape so you get the idea...

How intensified you want to make you S is up to you depending your image.
That's the one technique that I think will make your image "pop" more.

Making your car pop depends greatly on the shot and exposure. Each shot requires a different approach. Welcome to GimpChat...
