Hi,

I'm not a complete newbie to gimp, but it's been a long time since I've used the program. I had to replace my laptop just before Christmas and have only just loaded gimp onto the new one. I began to be desperate for an image manipulation program on this laptop in order to change the colour balance etc of clipart which I add to youtube vids. I have programs for creating art, such as ArtRage, my favourite, , but not an image manipulation software. I have a pared down version of photoshop (elements 8) which came with a Wacom tablet, but it's so confusing and takes ages to load.
I began to pine for gimp, so downloaded and installed the new (for me) 2.6 version. But it's been so long since I used the program that I'm very rusty.
I've been rewatching GimpTricks' youtube vids, but some basics still baffle me. I googled and found this forum, so joined, thinking that it would help with any issues I might have. .
