I've had this script for a few years, I can no longer find it on the gimp plugin registry but I've attached to it. It's supposed to make gold text with a white diamond like center. I've seen it used before and it looked right but every time I've ever tried it I get a center that looks more like coal. I was wondering if the script works that way or am I doing something wrong?

Ok, now I wonder why I get coal and you get diamonds, I've developed a complex.

I just realized that your diamond filled area is smaller than mine, maybe that's why. It's 8:00 am and I didn't sleep a second last night and am a zombie or I'd try it now.

Gms9810,
"Diamond-text" is at this link, I compared code, it's the exact same as the one you posted here.
http://kward1979uk.deviantart.com/art/D ... 4-68411274

I tried the script with no unusual results. When I checked the code it calls the "Golden" gradient. The only thing I can think of is your copy of "Golden" gradient might be the issue.

I tried setting different gradients and foreground/background color combinations before I ran the script to see if that was the problem. I also tried a few different fonts. Each time I ran the script, same result; a new image was generated and the gradient was changed to "Golden".

I'm depressed and going to end it all. I'm going to stick my head in the oven. Fortunately it's electric and there is a pie in it. Goodbye, cruel world.

I know some plugins and scripts have a stronger effect on lower res images. Maybe this is the issue?

Could be, my laptop, which is what I usually use is 1024x768 but my desktops (all three of them) are 1280 x 1024 but I seem to get the same results. It's just one of those mysteries of nature, like neckties.

I just tried the script with a fat serif font like yours (Times New Roman Bold).
Image

Monitor resolution will not affect the way GIMP runs the script - pixels are king in GIMP, resolution only counts when you want to print something or import the file into a word/document processing program.

I just looked at the script. It uses the background color for the diamond inset color, so:

Make sure your background color is set to white!

This is what I got with a medium orange background color.

White background did it. Now I'm embarrassed because I didn't think of that. Thanks.
