Now this will be VERY handy, I've never really been happy with gimp's iwarp. From the article on gimpusers I gather it isn't available yet.

Not yet but the C source is but i can only seem to find the C file and the makefile, no header files which need to be included for compiling i think.Keep in mind however it just got launched the news of it that is.So i am sure someone will compile a test version soon. At least i hope they do. =)

The tool is now in the master branch of current GIMP development, so it will come with GIMP 2.8. =)

Works fairly well.

Fails badly on indexed images (should be greyed out).

I also saw a request on the dev list to deform the outside of the cage as well, which would be nice.

I bought this one just today (5 dollars USD)
http://www.nimisis.com/projects/warp.php

Seems to work real nice, except only on jpg images. And it also seems to work only on the inside of the image pixels. =)

Image

Uses also nodes to warp, but they are placed in the same exact place as a grid at start.
Whereas the Gimp Tool uses a user defined path.
I wrote the developer and asked them to add a path tool for user defined areas to warp, and options to use any image extension like gif and png

Not a bad tool for 5 dollars though.

I tried it and it only saves images as a plain black box with no watermark.
