Hello,

Last week, I was in London during 2 days for short holidays with my family, if you're interested, please find below some photos that I have shot. For information some photos are not mine, they are only for illustrate what I have seen and I wanted to share with you.

Leaving from Gare du Nord (Paris - France), this is a beautiful station, too bad that we have to cross running with the crowd and the number of docks no question of taking pictures.

The travel in train spent little more of 2 hours for link Paris to London. This is an advertisement about the train (Thalys) that I thought was nice.

Arriving at St Pancras railway station, also famous for scenes of Harry Potter films, it appreciable, we planned to visit the Warner Bros Leavensden

Image

After a short visit in bus of Westminster City, we stop in Covent Garden for the first meal in England, with an inevitable "Fish and Chips", it's just a discover for french family as mine.

Now starting to Warner Bros of Leavesden.

Thanks for the lovely tour of the Harry Potter display! We were in London last Easter but never saw Harry Potter or Covent Garden. I also didn't realize about the Eurostar so we missed out on a day trip to Paris. But we did see a lot around town, including We Will Rock You, Thriller (West End shows) and something I have wanted to see for a very long time....Freddie Mercury's house! London is a beautiful city.

Welcome to the UK. You've probably seen more of London than I have. Lovely photos!

No but if you ever come down south towards the M4 there's a chance you'll bump into me.

Well, since we won't have a car, I cannot say that we will be traveling south at all. In fact, the only way we will be going is west to Dublin by train and ferry! We will be seeing the We Will Rock You 10th Anniversary Arena tour.....unless our travel arrangements don't go as planned.

Second day in London :
After a long night of rest well deserved, we are ready to start the second day which is very busy, we have planned to go to Kew Gardens the morning, eat at Piccadilly Circus, then to visit at least one museum, we are impressed to learn that a lot of museum are free and they are among the largest in the world. If we have some free time before take the train, we will go see Big Ben ...

We take for the first time the London underground, it is very similar than Paris, we aren't lost but the lines are very long, London is very extended, 10 times more than Paris !

Image

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, usually referred to as Kew Gardens, comprises 121 hectares of gardens and botanical glasshouses between Richmond and Kew in southwest London.
The director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, is responsible for the world's largest collection of living plants. The organization employs more than 650 scientists.

Image

The living collections include more than 30,000 different kinds of plants, while the herbarium, which is one of the largest in the world, has over seven million preserved plant specimens. The library contains more than 750,000 volumes, and the illustrations collection contains more than 175,000 prints and drawings of plants.

Image

Greenhouses are incredibly large, the heat shock each input or output greenhouses adds fogging glasses and camera lens.
We really feel in the middle of tropical forest or jungle, all climates and continents are represented, that these gardens have more than 300 years .....
