A remote digital clock - now you can use your remote to shut that darn noisy alarm off in the early morning hours. :)
All done in Inkscape 0.48, including the digital font.

Maybe his obsession with time is because he's getting old and every minute means more? Very nice clock, by the way.

People who don't deal in vector graphics don't understand what work it sometimes is. Unlike a bitmap where you start with an image and fool with it, in a vector you start from nothing and add every single later, shade, every single element has to be made then added. Sometimes a vector image might be composed of dozens or hundreds of layers. I spent almost 2 hours once making a dog tag (Based on this tutorial) and when I gave it to the person that asked for it all they said was 'it's nice. It was a work of art.' They had no concept of what work was involved. I didn't write that for Rod, I wrote it for people who don't understand what it means to make things with vectors. Each vector can be a very complex design and unless a person knows what they're looking at. < I felt an explanation was necessary.

This is also true of other things, like, for instance, Gimp scripts :) Mark Twain once wrote “I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” but that also applies to other things.

That's why I only fake it (and very seldom) by creating vexels (because i'm laze and rather make the PC do all the work). lol

Very cool clock Rod; wonder if you would embed as a flash animation and make it a true functional clock?

PC; you just Ninja'ed me. lol

:)

I don't know anything about Gimp scripts but I'd like to. However I agree that it applies to a lot of things, a LOT of things.

Awesome clock! I love the realism of the digital face!

I have a collection of clock photos, so I understand the interest/obsession.

Thanks everyone.
I just love clocks any kind.I guess i am obsessed with time.I love being older as i now get to reap the rewards of Graduations, Grandkids, and lovely walks with my Wife.Believe it or not though they still bust into the bedroom without announcement, or call at non opportune times. :lol Guess that will never change. But i am blessed with wonderful friends, family, things and people in my life, almost 15 years of marriage, and i thank God for all of it.
Just yesterday my son Cody graduated. We are so proud of him as he has worked so hard to get this diploma.Even the School Board said he wouldn't make it.But he did it. :)

Image
I have not had a chance to enhance or fix up any of the photos yet.Camera sucks too but oh well maybe next years B-Day present. :0
Two more sons to go and all my 6 children will have graduated. That will be a very proud moment it time indeed!

Lyle if ccbarr doesn't beat me to it with GAP that sounds like a cool project.A Flash animated digital clock.

Thanks again everyone for your kind comments on the vector.

Definitely congratulations to your son Rod. I remember, even though I was taking college prep courses in highschool, I was a mediacre child as far as grades were concerned. Only when I started attending college and paying for my own education that my attitude (thus grades) got to near straight A's. Paying out of your own pocket definitely brings focus to your life. My parents did provide me the vittles though (I payed room and tuition; went home every 2 weeks and my mom would wash my cloeths and they both bought me enough groceries to last 2 weeks) and am definitely greatful for that too. I know the job situation is bleak right now (trust me; first hand experience). Your boy going to college or trade school? Better yet, are there any guilds in your area? :)

Thanks , Cody is talking about engineering school.Right now he is having fun with his own lawn mowing business, and having some well deserved time off from school. :)
Cody just got an offer from a mobile home park owner to mow all the lawns of homes he rents out or leases. So my son may just have started his own landscaping company.
My daughter Kate whom graduated 2 years back is now attending GRCC "Grand Rapids Community College".
She is studying to be a teacher for mentally challenged children. Please do not tell her i said mentally she would have my head. :lol . I have two more sons to go they are in 7th and 4th grades this year(which is almost complete).

i believe is almost 20 years than i never wear a clock

just because are clocks everywhere, in the phones,in the TV,in the car, included in the heater or air condictioning display, in my PC, on each parkmeter, hanging on shops walls
so i really can't see why buy one

Well except buy as was a object of art, but that are very pricey and they may ignite aggression robbery and problems
