there is no 'gramg' GC member anymore and all of her posts are erased.
I figure it could have been done only by her own request.
I just wonder why?
Because of the Knotter thread being locked and then moved to the new subcategory?

Yes, gramg asked to be removed from the site. Before that, she removed every image she had ever posted here, stating that she only temporarily posts images to the internet. Our policy is to remove (or edit) any post (or thread) that contains dead images (or links) that are relevant to the thread.

Only once before has anyone requested that their account be removed. Our policy is to not remove the posts, but to remove the account only, with that member's posts being attributed to "Guest". This is to maintain continuity in threads. There was some confusion over this policy by the staff and all of her posts were removed, instead of being attributed to "Guest". This required any thread she had previously posted in to be edited (or deleted) to maintain continuity.

She seemed to be a very cheerful chatter and overall nice person eager to learn gimp.
It's true she was very sociable here, but i've noticed some folks start hyper-actively and then drop off
all of a sudden. Got fed up with gimp? Realized they've become addicted to the GC?
Happened to me with Facebook, and it's been almost two years since I veered off that path.
What a waste of time it was!

Pity that gramg decided to unsubscribe from this forum. :(
Her numerous questions were always polite and interesting.
She also posted a nice and fanciful interpretation of a crossword grid in shades of lemon yellow created by means of my relevant script, where she had the idea of filling certain empty entries with words of thanks to me. Unfortunately, the post in matter has been eliminated as well.

Gramg PM'ed me and informed me she was leaving. She didn't say why, she just told me she was also removing all her images.
Believe me when i tell you i tried to get her to stay. Do you realize how much work that was to fix all those posts that related to her artwork? Molly , myself and Tux were up half the night.
This all started when she removed her images from the Knotter topic, and we had to fix those posts. We posted a notice about that asking those who would like to remove their images (which is your right), to notify a Mod so we can get ready to fix the topic. I think that is what made her want to leave. Shortly after that post i got her PM telling me she was leaving for a long vacation because she never intended her images to be posted very long.
No one ever blamed her for anything, on the contrary i told her it was Moderation fault because we couldn't figure out what to do with that topic anyways as it was going all over the place. We finally decided to give it (Knotter) it's own sub forum like G'MIC has.
So that is it in a nutshell.
Gramg never did tell me why she was leaving.

Gramg told me in an email that she doesn't post images permanently on the internet. That is her choice. However, on a Graphics oriented help site, like GIMP Chat, images are critical to the thread.

Suppose a member starts a thread and posts an image that demonstrates a specific technique or displays their artwork. Then, 10 GC members happen along and respond to the thread. One month later, the member deletes the image they posted, making the entire thread useless for anyone else who comes along and views that thread.

This cuts against everything that GIMP Chat is all about. We certainly don't want that kind of thing occurring here. We want anyone who happens by that thread, at anytime in the future, to be helped and to be able to see an image (or click a live link) that might demonstrate (or help them understand) an effect or technique.

It also causes a lot of extra work for the staff, who has to the clean up the mess left behind from missing images, dead links and defunct websites.

I think when gramg realized that we removed threads that contained missing images and dead links, she decided to move on. She had been deleting her older images all along.

At this point, I think enough has been said about this and we should put it behind us and get back to the business of discussing GIMP.

Thread closed.
