I just starting messing around with a new pattern (checkerboard), and decided to use twirl on it and got a nice looking vortex.
So i thought about these c4d's i downloaded from somewhere, can't remember. So i decided to make them look like ships coming through a colorful worm-hole type vortex. So here it is i call it "The Fleet Arrives"

Being a former Navy man, when I read the topic title I expected to see Navy ships entering a harbor. :lol
Seeing the picture reminds me a little of Transformers or Gundam-type mecha (yeah, I'm an anime/manga fan :geekon ) - although these are more rounded. Still cool!

Cool results Rod. Did you use the checkerboard in Filters > Render > Pattern > Checkerboard?

I saw only Babylon V and you did a good job of doing it.

Molly, that's beautiful!

I used the Checkerboard pattern in Filters > Render > Pattern > Checkerboard and checked Psychobilly.

Had to mess around a bit with sizing.

Thanks you guys. =)
Molly that is really pretty.
There is so much you can do with this gradient.

Actually the ships are supposed to look like they just arrived through the rainbow worm hole. (not being sucked in it...lol), but that's ok.I did have them kind of un-cloaking at first, but that looked yucky.

Thanks for all your comments on it though.
