Might qualify as Gimp art since I spent more time with Gimp than with the camera...


Suggestions for enhancements welcome, especially for a wallpaper that look more "lived in".

I think the wallpaper choice is fine, but you need a little depth behind the "family" by adding a blur or drop shadow. This picture made me chuckle, but I am still trying to figure out what the picture on the wall is. Hehehe, very clever, ofnuts.

That's why I blurred the wallpaper a bit (btw, do you recognize it)... You want a drop shadow of the family over the wall?

I was just thinking you need some depth in the image. If you were to take a photo of me standing in front of a wall, you'd see a shadow behind me. Depending on the direction and strength of the lighting.

your "family" is very clever and yes, a shadow of them against the wallpaper would enhance it.

If you do take mahvin's advice and put in a shadow, I noticed while looking at the picture on the wall that he mentioned, it has a shadow so maybe you should try to get the same angle on your new shadow.

Yes, and that shadow is closer to the lighting I used when taking the shots (fairly vertical). But it's too vertical to be noticeable behind the "persons" so I'll have to cheat a bit and change the picture's shadow as well.
