To Install Gimp-2.8 help manual for 32bit and 64bit.
1) Unzip the Gimp-2.8-help photocomix-samj.zip file anywhere you like.
2) Copy the help folder and ALL it's contents to the "Installed Gimp-2.8 Path\share\gimp\2.0\" folder
So the directory structure should be.../share/gimp/2.0/help folder and all of it's contents
3) Copy everything in the bin folder to your bin folder
4) in your preferences/Help System set your User manual to 'use locally installed copy', and set your Help Browser to use 'Web Browser'

These are the help files for 2.8↓

After testing a few help file zips these are the best as they include a search and page memory function

Rod the files in the download are all that's needed
gimp_2_8_en.chm into your bin folder
KeyHH.exe also into your bin folder
folder help into your Installed Gimp-2.8 Path\share\gimp\2.0 folder

after setting your preferences there is no need to even restart your gimp
there is no additional plugins needed
In 2.8 help-browser.exe is a default plugin

Yes ROD but remember to add KeyHH.exe

Also some type of files when unzipped may go automatically "locked" by Windows for obscure security reasons, so if still problem just control if the .chm file is not blocked (from "propriety "when happens there is also a visible option to unblock)
