O that looks nice. I love those old cars.

I kind of lightened/brightened that tree in this one. They should have shot the car somewhere else because it looks like it's growing out of the top of the car. It's very ugly and not a lot can be done to improve it afaik.

O, try region inpainting in G'MIC, and see if that helps. There is a tutorial for it on Flickr G'MIC

UPDATE: I tried it, and it flopped.

As blown out as that house is it wouldn't be hard to just take the tree out by cloning the house over it.
There isn't a whole lot of detail other than the brick work, and maybe a branch of the tree.. Maybe that will work for you.After that flatten the image and then run the image through the G'MIC preset again.

Something like this - you still need to touch it up a wee bit but it's close.

back again...i hope was not confusion with the last, is a preset for graphic boost , the effect may be similar to the Inkwash filter i did, the basic effect is similar, but there different way to modify it, ...Inkwash filter has its own with the preset may be interesting play with the intensity , i mean the opacity of the merging mode,that may attenuate the effect but add back part of the color, i found interesting do very slightly to use as for tint the original color

Again, I can't find the Waxy Realismo filter in G'MIC. It would be nice to know where it resides.

Perhaps it's not working for me because I've been through the entire menu and can't find it.

It's in my .gmic file.

Hy O it is a preset not a new filter so doesn't go on your .gmic but on your .gmic_faves file

after should appear in your favorites so on top of the menu

My gmic faves file got dumped because I was getting error messages and I didn't know how to fix it.

i just see your new message, your .gmic file was screwed up because is only for filter but you added there also filter's preset

You may fix easily ,if you placed presets in the .gmic file remove them
you will notice the difference from the first line , filter start with
#@gimp

preset(FAVES to avoid confusion) will start with
"{"

as " {GB -Waxy Realismo}{Graphic_Boost} ..." and should not be copied in the .gmic but in the .gmic:faves file

Anyway as now all the custom filters should be included in the last version of gmic so you have no much reason to recover the .gmic file

Not presets, no. On the .gmic_faves file - no. On the .gmic file for filters, yes, its just a common sense approach to putting placeholders between filters so you can easily identify them.
