...but my five year old white pekingese who is loved and admired for her spunky spirit and her big, bright, black eyes, hurt one of them; she may lose it. Have to wait 'till Monday after a few days of topical meds. Anyone out there with a loving and loved little family member knows how heartbreaking it might be :bluesad

We will all be hoping for the best Dalia, the meds might just do the trick. Yes, we all have pets and it hurts when they can't tell us what is wrong.

Dalia, I had a pet and I'm so sorry to learn what you are feeling. Hope for the best, I'm with you.

Oh Wallace I wish I could know definitively. I had her groomed and the next day, if I remember correctly, she woke up and was squinting. Foolish of me, I thought she might have an eyelash or hair in the eye. I flushed the eye with a little syringe and she seemed okay. The next day, not so good - took her to the vet. Won't bore you with all the details but today was the second visit to the vet and it doesn't appear to be getting better. Honestly, she may have hurt it at home too - I just don't know.

Thank you molly, Isabella and Wallace for your remarks - it truly helps so much.

Sad to hear this Dalia. I can only hope she gets better and doesn't lose her sight.

Thank you for your sentiments Erisian.

Let's see who we're talking about. This was her before:

I hope her eye feels better soon too. ;w; It's good that you have a vet's opinion on this, at least; being left to your own devices and online research on the matter can be scary.

Thank you everyone. It's been an extremely long, exhausting day and I won't go into details but "Princess Snow White" (yes that's her name) went to an ophthalmologist today and will have surgery on Monday. They think they can save the eye - they'll be performing a graft on the surface of the eye.

I now feel so foolish to have posted about this but truly you all are tremendous individuals and a fantastic group to put up with me and my going on about my little dog/family member.

Thank you.

Dalia, currently there are alternatives and cures for many things than before there weren't. So, think that everything is going to be good with her. She is beautiful, the photo is lovely. :)

It's not foolish Dalia, and I wish your little princess all the best on Monday.
