:welcome to GC. Being American, I had to look up gridder. :mrgreen:

Here are a few interesting words that are used differently in Briton than in the US. I learned these from Watching Top Gear. :)

Storage in the back of the car: US=Trunk - UK=Boot
Part that covers the car engine: US=Hood - UK=Bonnet
US=Windshield - UK=Windscreen
Travel Trailer: US=RV - UK=Caravan
Asphalt pavement: UK=Tarmac - US=Parking Lot (Tarmac is only used when referring to airports)

I'm sure there are lots of others. :hehe

Thanks for the welcome. Actually, I'm American as well. My undergrad school nickname was "Britons". And with Gridder, you can surmise that I opted to conduct high-speed collisions wearing a Briton uniform. :-)
