I'm running this process through my head now, trying to figure it out. Something tells me it was "simple" to do, but probably not the first thing someone will think of. From just looking at it, it appears you created 3 separate layers, because I don't see how it could wrap 3 different profiles on the same selection, separately.
Indeed:
- Define three profile layers
- Run ProfileMap on each to obtain three one-pixel high Levels layers
- scale the Levels layer to 300px high
- rotate Levels layers +15,+75,-45 and assemble triangle.
- (secret operation to produce final bump map)
- add gray layer, apply bump map.
Hint: the "secret operation" will work with any bump maps you may throw at it

(now to find a way to have the three rods in different colors with correct cut out)
