The question is, would you eat it? Since I regularly eat both dried seaweed (rice rolls with meat and veggies inside) as well as seaweed soup (Duk Gook soup; delicious with chicken, garlic and rice), I would try this, but not as a meat replacement. :)

well i prefer bacon taste but i am just saying that if they could make bacon taste like seaweed i'd try it too...
this seaweed is pricy though, It costs about US$90 for 500g.
when bacon is only about $5/500g
that's like 18 times the amount of bacon for the seaweed, you'd think it'd be cheaper if it grows so fast.
I hope science can make chicken wings that taste like bacon...that would be great.

Guess I didn't read the cost details. Ludicrous to be this pricey. I won't be eating this stuff anytime soon. :)

If you like the taste of raw oysters you can grow this in a flower pot.

No doubt Wallace; it's the reason I refuse to buy Turkey bacon. Only the real thing is right for me. Have denied myself again of bacon for 1.5 weeks now. Trying for 3 weeks before breaking down. lol

:)

Oh you laugh Wallace. :gaah

Regardless, I manage to milk a package of the delicious stuff for 2 weeks when I do buy one. It's all about discipline (who am I kidding; my cheapness can overcome most craves; lol). :)

Well Fresh Market had 1/2 off sell on their bacon (amounts to $3.50/lb for the sell as opposed to the normal $7/lb). I have to say it's some of the most delicious bacon I've had in a long time. Didn't quite make it to 3 weeks (that would have been tomorrow; lol), but close enough. Man, I missed bacon. :)
