Challenge is an understatement, haha. This is a photo taken by my father in law of himself, jumping out of a plane in WWII, with a little "Brownie" camera. Of course, quality was low, as you can plainly see. Let's see whatcha got. I don't have an after photo, as mine wasn't good. Anywhos, here's the photo:

couldn't resist the challenge, though i have loads of stuff i should be doing! anyway, here's my try, one is a desaturated version, one is a version where i tried to keep the colour of the aged photo.

probably my eyes or my monitor set-up or both lead me to obtain results which may look too dark, for this reason I prepared a second version

Nice work gang. Odin, I started colorizing a different photo of his, but gave up on it. It's a lot of work.

Is that the only copy you have in jpeg? I'd rather try the challenge with a tiff image.

Yes, the only one I have. I'm sure my father in law scanned it into his computer.

Bummer, jpegs have way too mush loss in them.. something uncompressed or raw data would produce much better results.
