My wife was playing this song this morning as somebody posted it on her forum. Just a fabulous rendition.

We had the organist play this tune at our wedding some 45 years ago as we walked down the aisle; he said it made a really good change from the traditional wedding music!!

I cannot believe the band is still touring, as so many pop stars from my era have passed on. I think this was from a concert at some large garden centre in Ohio in October 2015.

I get an error that the music is from Eagle Rock and the contect is unavailable in my country (US). What the heck is wrong with the internet anyway not allowing the free flow of information (so long as that information doesn't break national security that is). Disgusts me. I suppose I can play games by using a proxy, but not in the mood at the moment. Oh well. :)

OK; even that link didn't quite work (I have my system locked up pretty tight when it comes to anything Face Book; I did get the video link though and am playing it now OMG) but I got the video link this time (direct link below). Still not sure why Youtube would say not allowed in this country. Stupid, stupid, stupid. :)

Procol Harum – A Whiter Shade Of Pale Lyrics

We skipped the light fandango
Turned cartwheels cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray

[Chorus]
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, there is no reason
And the truth is plain to see.
But I wandered through my playing cards
And would not let her be
One of sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might have just as well've been closed

[Chorus]
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, I'm home on shore leave,
Though in truth we were at sea
So I took her by the looking glass
And forced her to agree
Saying, you must be the mermaid
Who took Neptune for a ride.
But she smiled at me so sadly
That my anger straightway died

[Chorus]
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale

If music be the food of love
Then laughter is it's queen
And likewise if behind is in front
Then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
Seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
And attacked the ocean bed

[Chorus]
And so it was that later
As the miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale
Songwriters: KEITH REID, GARY BROOKER

I really love memories of marriages that last 45 years. My husband and I have been married 45 going on 46 years.
