An attempt to create a water reflection without a straight, horizontal transition.
I know the reflection is not actually correct, but perhaps it creates the right impression.

Eight image.
After the difficult 7th image, more comfortable with this one.
Steps applied:
1-duplicated layer, mode to SoftLight
2-duplicated layer (and mode), applied LumaInvert, then Desaturated Luma
3-new layer from visible: on this one
-reduced Brightness by 100,
-increased Contrast by 30,
-reduced Saturation by 20
The outcome looks to me as if that piece of forest was "wet".

The colours for the skin, the lips and the eyes I "stole".
I did an image search on the internet for faces of young girls. I found the picture of a Japanese girl which I downloaded. From her, I sampled the skin, the lips and the white of the eyes, with very little adjustment. Another young girl had eyes of almost the correct colour. Whilst looking on the internet, one of the pictures had wooden wallbars in the background - the colour for the stool!
The rest of the colours I decided to be subtle - a very pale cream for the blouse, dark blue for the skirt and a brownish tint for the background.
Next time I try colouring an image, I think I can do it much more quickly. If I use quick-mask I can select the face and exclude the eyes and the lips. That means the parts I don't want to paint are protected. Then I can invert the selection and the face will be protected when I paint the lips and eyes, and so on for the rest of the picture.

Ninth image.
I found this image a bit too light and with some rock surfaces too white-shocking.
The scene is nice.
I applied this steps:
1-a few manual "copy-paste" of non-totally-white pieces of rocks onto the all-white areas
2-duplicated the amended layer
3-applied a nuance of "zafferano profondo" (defined as RGB = 255,153,51)
4-set mode to multiply, opacity to 75%
This is the outcome.

I guess it "interprets" the scene in a quite pleasant way.

I've been watching this thread and it's very interesting, maybe if the topic goes on for another hundred pages I'll catch on.
I was reading about masks this morning, then jumped over to reading about levels and curves.
Then I stumbled across a script I thought I might try. It's called -

An incoming train is always fascinating.

Applied modifications:
1-cut and changed perspective
2-mighty details on dup
3-mixer lab contrast A component to 2
4-dup and set to multiply
5-added sky and a bit of fog on a dup layer with layer mask
