Dinasset, the only difference with you is gimp: 2.8.14

Does it also work after a G'MIC refresh?

Thank you very much Dinasset, then we will wait for David ;)

There is a fantastic new filter: under Colors: "Customize CLUT". Maybe implementing this awesome filter, something else went wrong?

Choose in "Lock uniform sampling" the keypoints You want to lock. Start with 8 keypoints.

There is a discussion on PIXLS.US. ( there I ask a lot of stupid questions  ).
The idea was from Iain Fergusson, the implementation by David Tschumperlé.

https://discuss.pixls.us/t/gimp-how-to- ... ut/1567/27

The discussion for this filter started about in the middle of the topic.

Coincidentally I can not reach that website now, maybe later.

Hello iarga, thanks for reporting the issue !
It should be working again now.
Note that this filter is becoming really old (5 years, which is old considering all the evolution of G'MIC that have been done since then :) ),
and I haven't got news from Thomas Keil for years now.
I'm trying to maintain his piece of code as much as I can, but yes, sometimes, new features introduced break the compatibility with
the oldest filters. I'm actually not sure if I'll be able to maintain it for ever :)

Thank you David. It works again. I hope there can be a substitute for his filters, because a lot of the filters made by Thomas Keil are special and useful too. But I understand your concern. It looks like repairing holes in a pavement, but there is a moment that the whole road must be renewed.

Another thing, is the appearance of this color-picker-cursor is as it is supposed to be?Image

Probably not, but if there is something wrong, it's with GTK.
I just use a gtk_color_button_new();
I obviously didn't recode the color picker by myself :) !

I reported this issue on the G'MIC Flickr page, but the issue still exists. It's in Deformations>Continuous Droste. The Continuous Droste is unable to create the standard circular Droste. In Mathmap it works normally, but in G'MIC it comes up rectangular and is unable to create the standard circular Droste. The circular Droste is actually used more often than the rectangular, so it is something to be looked into.

Hey PM; David doesn't really participate in the Flickr forum any longer. Your best bet is to pose your issue at Pixls's G'MIC forum. :)

Thanks PhotoMaster.
I think we should absolutely make sure 'Souphead' is reading this, he is the author of the continuous droste filter.
I'll have a quick look at the filter code, but not sure I can fix the bug by myself.

I don't have a PIXLS account, but will have to set one up. I saw where it said the author was 'Souphead' but I have no clue how to contact him/her.

I was working on the Animated Droste in Mathmap, but someone else took it and ran with it, so I don't where that stands.

OK, I just got an email from David. I have a bit of time now though I'll be away for a few days soon. So you are saying that every option is the same between MATHMAP and G'MIC and External Transparency is ON. Then the difference is when No Transparency is also ON. Is that right?

All the settings are the same, External Transparency is Off and No Transparency is On. (the spiral image)
If I set them both to External Transparency on and No Transparency is Off, the result is identical. (the rectangular image)
If I set both External Transparency and No Transparency to On, the result will also be different.

The No Transparency flag appears to be the problem.

Finally had time to squash the bug. Wait a couple of hours after this post and refresh your filters. Any other weird stuff, let me know.

Souphead.
