Pat - as per your PM request, I have attached a couple of zip files with glass brushes and some others I have used for 'path stroking' purposes recently. You will find the one for the mini tut (workflow) in the glass zip. Example image of the brushes is below-

I tried to follow your mini tut, OMG. Thank you so much. The problem for me it was that I didn't find "OMG_flat_glass_circ pattern and blue pattern". Anyway I did it using some of mine. I hope not to disappointed OMG with my outcome.

I really like your two images and very representative for both of them.

wooooow!!! nice job, grumpy one ! one could almost think you know a bit about us ... i like the way you contrast the shiny smooth stuff with those grainy backgrounds.

you know, real life and forum life don't always go so well together . erisian hasn't even been sketching much since he started getting more regular shifts where he works, and we now have only one functioning laptop that we share. we still consider gimp chat a kind of online home, though, so you won't be completely rid of us .

OMG, you are probably tired of me begging, but please share with us how you do that glossy glass look without BRL. It is amazing!

Pat - OK, I will document the approach, but I still need to refine just what I am doing each time; right now there is a bit of trial and error. So more study needed

Good to see glass/glass text making a re-appearance in the forum; it tempted me to revisit this old thread.

First image is of the Hobbiton set (now a tourist attraction in NZ) from the Lord of the Rings - I put the name of the village on the hillside in glass text and used one of the Hobbit fonts. In the second image i was just trying our some new ideas.

Might do another Hobbiton one with see through glass
