Should a kayak camouflage look like water or like vegetation?

I think it should look like water... But then again, many people wear vegetation camouflage designed clothing in a non-vegetation places like the city. :hehe

looks like a fun project by the way.

I don't know much about kayaking,
but I'm guess it would all depend.
Weather you're trying to hide/disguise yourself from the fish in the water,
or from the creatures around/near the outskirts of the water.

:hehe

I visited the Cabela's website.

For those who don't know what Cabela's is:
It's an American direct marketer.
Specializing in the retail of hunting,
fishing,
boating,
camping and other outdoor related recreation merchandise.

They have numerous camouflaged kayaks available for sale there,
with many different camouflaged patterns factory painted on them.

This image should blend in and look invisible with Wallace's likable colors range. :hehe

Just added 3 coats of clear enamel to it yesterday. Turned out pretty good. It used to be orange lol. ;)

Wallace mine cost 300.00. To buy one with the camo pattern already on it is far more. And mine is a sit in rather than a sit on. The sit ins are more stable.

Ofnuts i believe it should look like water to really be camouflaged in the water. BUT i just wanted it to look cool. Going to add a fishing pole holder next. I plan on using it for fishing in the Bass River Bayous.

Lyle it is waterproof i am sure. ;)

I have to disagree, sorry.......
Mine is a sit-on and it is very stable and cost me 250$. I've used sit-in before, but not stable at all. I use mine mostly for photography, not fishing...

It does look nice,
with your camo paint-job.
:bigthup

$300 sounds like a good price to me Rod.
I guess it's less expensive then animal hide on a wooden frame kayak.
Probably more reliable as well,
but I'm just guessing.

Has it paid for itself yet?

As soon as i catch 300.00 worth of blue gill and perch it will have. LOL. ;)

Sorry racer i have to disagree with you . My sit in is very stable. Flat bottomed you see. You must have very good coordination because when i sit in a sit on i just about turn her over. lol

That video was too funny. Clearly the dude is way to big and heavy for that little kayak.

My kayak is very steady, thanks to the flat bottom like yours. I've never flipped it or anything. That's a good thing because I often bring my expensive camera gear with me. Some of my best shots were taken on that kayak.
