You have selected as follows:
Tool: Airbrush
Brush: Hardness 0.50
Size: 1
That is very soft ie plenty anti-aliasing

For a hard line, choose:
Tool: Pencil
Brush: Pixel
Size: 1 (or as needed)

Does my tool selection not being grayed out mean anything to you? The fact that it isn't, but that I'm still getting the AA? Sorry if I'm getting tedious at this point. Just trying to further my understanding of Gimp.

Not sure what you mean by that.
From your previous screenshot I can see (from the icons on the left) that you have the airbrush tool selected.

You could try turning off brush dynamics,
by setting it to Dynamics off.
To see if this helps.

Also,
check to see if the Image Mode is set to RGB and not Indexed
You'll find this setting under,
Image>Mode.

I posted it in response to your post about active layers and selections, and whether or not they are grayed out. I thought you were implying that it might explain airbrush not having AA activated.

Okay, will try that. Thank you both for your help. As I mentioned before, I may actually benefit from using AA, as I've had to correct "jaggies" (as I see they are sometimes called) in the past manually..

Just in case you were interested, Dynamics off didn't change anything, and Image Mode was RGB. I may continue to poke around, just out of curiosity (or get brave and try the "reset all filters" option), but I'm actually not needing GIMP at this point (just wrapped up my current project), I guess it's time to move on. And cut down on the 'shrooms, just in case this was all a hallucination, ha-ha. Once more, thanks to you both for your suggestions!
