New version 0.4 of ArrowsCreator

Hi,
The last changes before GIMP-2.10 and the version is bump now to ArrowsCreator-0.4.2 .
Corrected two bugs (more details in the file history) and some string unfreezing!

Am running daily build of Ubuntu 18.04 and gimp 2.8.22.
I find that the Arrows Creator is greyed out and I cannot use it.
Do you have any suggestions?

Hi volkerbradl,
Since from your 'Attachments' it is installed in your GIMP; I supposed that every things is normal.
If it's the case: my suggestion, this plug-in needs an image to be active (not grayed out; GIMP uses it to signify an inactive script or plug-in).

This version is the start of the stable one.

To everyone interested there is an update.
Usage of the indicator, '*' in 'Status', for the possibility of label is now more precise.
More eradication of bugs and typos doing it but...

Hi,
The pieces are: 'ArrowsModule.py' as imported GUI module (pyc coded, probably faster) and
the central plug-in is 'ArrowsCreator-0.4.py' (registering with GIMP like before).

A couple of improvements in 'ArrowsModule.py'; the line around head 6, now use an anti-alias brush and
extended the auto sizing for successive labels with a constant number of chars.

Still adjusting to the separation in two pieces of 'ArrowsCreator-0.4.py', while waiting for the RC of GIMP-2.10.
Here is the last effort.

Have to report a malicious invasion of my Linux that (pre)occupied me! Seems over for now.

For Windows, there is a serious problem with the use of Python plugins - two versions (GCC and MSC) are a very bad solution to me.
Question (only for the 32bit version):
Have you tested your Windows plugin for the Samj version (python GCC)? - for me, your plugin is not flammable (but works well with Python MSC)

Thanks for the info. To answer your question about a test with Samj version (GIMP-2.9.9), no I have not test it, just the 'official' version (GIMP-2.9.8 64bits) on Windows.
Do you know if there will be a version of GIMP-2.10 32 bits with Python MSC?

I don't feel this is my battle, so don't count on me, but it seems wastefull to discard old computer if their working so if you have the time, the teacher and the reason go for it.
My time estimate is base at less then two years to begin making a difference, with a lot of hand waving and base on 2007 as the start of 64bit.

I have almost all versions of your plugins archived (so I have a version for 32bit Gimp 2.8 / 9 - and the latter one-part works very well for Python MSC and GCC).
I am sorry that I wanted your involvement in the issue of fixing the problem - non-mobile Python GCC or maybe no appeal in the plugin (and only for confirmation - the capital plugin autosave.py does not want to work for windows with GCC).

I really appreciate Your work for the development of Gimpa and the past help in learning how to write Python plugins - and that's why I wanted your help - my favorite Master Pyhon.

ps. However, I do not promise no further questions...

Since your last post, they publish for Windows a 'GIMP 2.10.0-RC1' and the last version of ArrowsCreator don't work on it. A look a the python console gives

'GIMP 2.10.0-RC1 Python Console
Python 2.7.5 (default, May 15 2013, 22:44:16) [MSC v.1500 64 bit (AMD64)]'

so a regression from the version in GIMP-2.8.18 (my version) and notice the MSC! By the way ArrowsCreator is registered on 'GIMP 2.10.0-RC1' but do nothing.

Thanks for plugin, but still broken on GIMP 2.10.2

GIMP Output shows...

Console shows:

Python 2.7.15 (default, May 4 2018, 07:50:01) [GCC 7.3.0 32 bit]

Is it interesting that it's 32 bit Python on my 64 bit install?

Wherever You are, I hope you'll forgive me - You split the plug into two parts (to make it work faster) - I connected it back (for the plugin to work with Python GCC for Gimp 2.10.12 in Windows)
